Bottom of the River — Jarem Roots
A movement-led editorial where custonm-made garments become gesture, structure and airborne form against a terracotta set.
This story is based on a choreography created by Myriam Gadri to the song
“Bottom of the River” by Delta Rae. The photoshoot retains the choreography’s
chemistry between the two performers, while putting an additional spotlight on
the custom-made dresses constructed by Lemington Riley. By carefully
constructing the editorial story around the choreography and blending with the
fashion, Maria puts the focus on the athleticism and the movement of the
dancers, gives it an editorial edge and polish. The sculpural hair and makeup
compliments the overall creative direction
By keeping the set simple and the color world concentrated, the photographs
let choreography and the physical character of the garments become the story.
